About us
e-Bility.com was launched in 1998 as a one-stop accessible destination for disability related information, resources, services and products. Its purpose was three fold:
- To make it easier and quicker for people with disability to find relevant information in an accessible format
- To offer a low cost alternative for small groups in the disability and community sector to have a presence on the web
- To support and promote web accessibility
Almost 12 years on and the Internet is a way of life, information is abundant, most organisations in the sector now have an online presence, accessibility is not perfect but much improved and the new Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.0, are a formal W3C Recommendation. Our plans for 2010 are to do a major update of e-Bility.com to reflect these changes and we'll keep you informed along the way.
