MySpot SOS emergency call software

A new software application for mobile phones could direct emergency services to your location at the push of a button.

The software, called MySpot, has been developed by Phantom Eye, a Sydney-based security company.

It can be loaded onto a global positioning system (GPS) enabled mobile phone to send out an alert when a pre-defined "panic button" is pressed.

"With a single SOS panic button, (MySpot) can call up to 20 preconfigured phones, send email, SMS, instant and twitter messages with the current or last location of the user," said Phantom Eye chairman, Ken Stokes.

A free 10 day trial of emergency alert software is available on the Phantom Eye website.
